ONCE
SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED??
ELECTION CONFUSION
One of the problems facing the doctrine of eternal security is election. Has God elected just certain people to be saved? Did God foreordain just certain ones to be saved? IF certain ones are foreordained to be saved, then are the others foreordained to be lost? Will those who are elected to be lost go to Hell? Aren't both groups the victims of God's sovereign choice of persons?
Being elected, being chosen is Biblical. BUT . . . elected to WHAT? Chosen to WHAT? Elected by God to salvation? NO! Chosen by God for salvation? NO! What then?
Election in my estimation is absolutely NOT election to salvation! Israel is God's elect. Israel is elected. Elected to WHAT? Salvation? Are ALL Jews elected to be saved? NO! They were elected to serve!
I truly believe that God chooses everyone. He makes salvation possible for ALL people, for whosoever! I think the following very well know Passage proves it. Whosoever! John 3:15-18 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (KJV) . . .
God sent His Son for the world! Anyone . . . whosoever will believe . . . by their free will, is saved! God does NOT elect or choose some to eternal life and others to Hell. The is NOT what the Bible teaches!
What about the extent of the atonement? IF God has foreordained that certain people are elect, and others not, then Christ did not die for the world (all people) as the Scriptures constantly tell us. Christ's death on the cross WAS sufficient for ALL, but is available ONLY to those who believe God and accept it.
TRUE children of God:
1. Never stop being God's child.
2. Never forfeit eternal life.
3. Never lose the Holy Spirit.
4. Never become unfit for heaven.
5. Never eternally perish.
BUT . . . when they sin, their:
1. Fellowship with God is broken.
2. The joy of their salvation is lost.
3. Power for service is gone.
4. Witness for Christ is to no effect.
5. Their position in glory is affected.
6. Their conduct will bring chastisement from the Lord.
7. Their physical life could be endangered.
What if a Christian dies with unconfessed sin? Can we really know and remember if we have confessed every sin? I say no! We cannot remember all our sins, but we can confess our sinful state, and when the Holy Spirit convicts of specific sins, we confess them and ask forgiveness (1 Jn.1:9).
Consider the following Passages about free will of mankind.
Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: (KJV)
Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. (KJV)
Isaiah 55:1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. (KJV)
Eze. 18:30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. (KJV)
Matthew 11:21 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. (KJV)
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (KJV)
Matthew 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! (KJV)
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (KJV)
John 3:18-19 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (KJV)
John 5:40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. (KJV)
John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. (KJV)
Romans 1:26-28 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; (KJV)
Romans 2:6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds: (KJV)
Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. (KJV)
1 Timothy 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. (KJV)
ALL people have a FREE WILL! God gave it to us when we were born, and it is very soon after birth that we start using it! (Ps.58:3). We have millions of choices in our life time. Choosing Jesus is the most important decision that you will ever make in your entire lifetime! Only Jesus can give you ETERNAL life in Heaven with Him. Only Jesus can give you ETERNAL security!
