ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED??

Quick Review

Once a person is saved, are they always saved? When people come to know Christ as their Saviour, they are brought into a relationship with God that guarantees their salvation as eternally secure. Many Passages of Scripture state this fact.

  • #1 Romans 8:30 states, "And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified." This tells us that from the moment God chooses us, it is as if we are glorified in His Presence in Heaven. There is nothing that can prevent a believer from one day being glorified because God has already decided it in Heaven. Once a person is justified, his salvation is guaranteed and is as secure as if he is already glorified in Heaven.
  • #2 Paul asks two serious questions in: Romans 8:33-34 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. 34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. (KJV) . . . Who will bring a charge against God's elect? NO one, because Christ is our Advocate. Who will condemn us? NO one, because Christ, the One who died for us, is the one who condemns. We have an Advocate, a Judge and a Saviour in Jesus.
  • #3 Believers are born again (regenerated) when they believe God (John 3:3; Titus 3:5). For a Christian to lose his salvation, he would have to be un-born into God's family, un-regenerated. The Bible gives absolutely NO evidence that the new birth can ever be taken away.
  • #4 The Holy Spirit indwells all believers (John 14:17; Romans 8:9) and baptizes all believers into the Body of Christ (1 Cor.12:13). For a believer to lose his salvation, he would have to be "un-indwelt" and detached from the Body of Christ. The Bible says this is impossible! John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; (KJV) For ever means He is not going anywhere!
  • #5 John 3:15 states that whoever believes in Jesus Christ will "have eternal life." If you believe in Christ today and have eternal life, but lose it tomorrow, HOW can that be "eternal"? SO . . . IF a person can lose their salvation, the Promises of eternal life in the Bible are lies! God is NOT a liar! Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; (KJV)
  • #6 To me, a greatest argument follows: Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (KJV) It is that exact same wise and powerful God who saves us, that keeps us safe! Once we are saved we are always saved. Our salvation is absolutely eternally secure! God says so!

The doctrine of "Once Saved, Always Saved" is absolutely true as the Bible teaches it; BUT it is a damnable hersey and false deception as taught in many of today's mainline churches.
First of all, the Bible plainly says that one’s salvation CANNOT be lost once it is a reality (Jn.10:27-29; Rom.8:35-39; Eph.1:13,14; 4:30; Heb.9:12; etc.).
BUT . . . many churches teach that eternal salvation is secured merely by a public acknowledgement of Christ as Saviour, repeating a "sinner’s prayer", promising support for a church, etc. Sin and repentance are minimized or completely ignored.

Consider: A person can acknowledge Christ, repeat the prayer with a heartfelt conviction, be eager to repent, renew his mind, and prayerfully serve the Lord. This person is truly convicted and saved eternally. BUT . . . what about the person who does the above in a non-sincere or mechanical way, then count himself saved because the preacher says so, and then proceeds to live any way he wants . . . disregarding the Scriptures which demand repentance, obedience and change and doing no good works to prove gratefulness (Eph.2:10).

Far too many preachers and churches have built up their numbers and influence based on luring people with this easy believism and grace on demand. Dispicable!!! This "feel good Churchianity" has deceived many into thinking they are saved when they are NOT, and that all in "their church" are Heaven bound, when according to I Peter 4:17-18; few will "scarcely" make it.

God’s Final Judgement on the world begins at the churches! It is the churches that God blames for the Devil’s success in the world! It is the churches that are guilty of diluting His Word, allowing it to fit with the world’s false gods, and with natural, worldly concepts about what is good and acceptable in politics, finance, sex, family, and religion.

1 Peter 4:17-18 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? (KJV) . . . Millions consider themselves saved . . . but they don't even try to be obedient to the Word, but instead they are ungodly sinners (v.18). God says NO way! He tells us that even the righteous "at the house of God" will "scarecely" be saved.

Why is there such Judgement on the churches? Simple! They have helped promote the Devil’s deception that church rules and their teachings . . . no matter how tainted and compromised, override the rules and teachings of God and His Word. This world is in deep trouble, and digging themselves deeper with each passing day! We should study and seek to be obedient to the Word of God. It is high time to repent and believe God!
