WHAT
IS GRACE?
Amazing
grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind but now I see.
So,
just what is grace? I am quite sure you have heard many definitions of grace.
Some of which were right and some that were not.
- Grace
is God’s unmerited favor toward mankind.
- Grace
is His love and mercy that He bestows upon us that we
do not deserve.
- Grace
is the eternal love, mercy and favor of God given to guilty
and unworthy sinners absolutely free.
- Grace
includes: love, mercy, kindness, goodness, forgiveness,
compassion, tenderness, and faithfulness; all characteristics
of our awesome triune God.
- Grace
is God showering us with His unmerited favor completely
without reason.
- Grace is getting everything good from God at no cost!
- Grace
is getting good when we deserve bad.

Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us
with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according
to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ
Jesus before the world began, [KJV] Salvation
is solely by grace. We are called and saved according to the
grace of God.
Ephesians
2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the
exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through
Christ Jesus. [KJV] God
demonstrates the extraordinary greatness of His grace in the
love He shows us in Christ Jesus.
God pardons the believing sinner without going against His
Law; because Jesus fulfilled the Law in His life and through
His death on the cross. Jesus took our place on that cross,
suffered and bled and died to pay sin’s penalty for
us. In doing so, He exonerated us in God’s eyes. Don’t
ever think God simply overlooks our transgressions, for this
is not the case. By the riches of His grace, God provided
a Substitute for us; that being His only begotten Son. Jesus
went to the cross bearing the sins of the world, and when
we believe and accept Jesus and His work on the cross, God
then looks on us as justified, because of what happened that
day on the cross.
Ephesians
2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not
of works, lest any man should boast. [KJV]
Romans
4:4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not
reckoned of grace, but of debt. [KJV]
Romans
4:16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might
be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the
seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also
which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us
all, [KJV]
Grace is the free favor of God in salvation. It’s His
unmerited and unrestricted loving favor He bestows on unworthy
sinners when we accept His Son. God has always been a God
of grace, and He will always be, because He never changes.
When Adam and Eve sinned against God in the garden, God was
not required to do anything for them; but He did. His grace
cleansed their guilt and clothed their nakedness.
Ephesians
1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace,
wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. [KJV]
GOD’S
GRACE IS ETERNAL

Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us

Jesus before the world began, [KJV]
It
is God who saves us and chooses us to live a holy life. He
did this not because we deserve it, but because that was His
plan long before the world began . . . to show His love and
kindness to us through Christ Jesus.
Grace
began with God, and God had no beginning, so grace is just
as eternal as God. Grace is a vital part of God. Grace is
an exceptional part of God's character. God lives in the everlasting
past, present and future, and so does His grace.

ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen,

GOD’S
GRACE IS FREE
Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by
his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: [KJV]
God’s
unmerited, unlimited and unrestricted favor is absolutely
FREE! If it were for sale, I could never afford it! If I had
to work for it, I’d never have enough strength. No payment
whatsoever is required of us, ever! Salvation is a gift. A
person does not pay for a gift, for if we were to pay for
it, it would no longer be a gift. No work of man can make
him or her fit for Heaven; NO baptism, NO church ordinance,
NO name on the church roll, NO rites or ceremonies, NO doing
better, NO amount of obedience to the Law. All these things
are actually enemies of the grace of God.
GOD’S GRACE IS LIMITLESS
Romans 5:20 Moreover the law entered,
that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace
did much more abound: [KJV]
Where
sin abounds, grace over-abounds. This is hard to understand!
If we were to take all the sins of a man, and multiply them
by every person who has ever lived or ever will live, that
would be sin abounding. But, how could we ever measure the
awesome grace of God? It would be simply impossible! We would
have to multiply His grace by eternity (how can we do that?),
then by infinity (how can we do that?), by His omnipotence
(how can we do that?), by His deity (how can we ever do any
of these things?).

Corinthians 6:9-11 Know ye not that the unrighteous
shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither
fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate,
nor abusers of themselves with mankind, [10] Nor thieves,
nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners,
shall inherit the kingdom of God. [11] And such were some
of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are
justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit
of our God. [KJV]
Are
you listed above? If so, you can never get to Heaven unless
you make a drastic change in your life. The limitless grace
of God can be extended to you, for NO one is beyond the reach
of God’s grace.
GOD’S GRACE IS EXCLUSIVE
Only through God’s grace can you be delivered from the
penalty of sin through belief in Jesus. Only through Jesus
can you be a child of God. Only through Jesus can God
forgive you and justify you. God’s grace will NOT work
outside of Christ Jesus. God’s grace is restricted only
to those who accept Jesus as their Saviour and Lord. God’s
grace excludes all unbelievers. God will
not bless unbelievers with His grace, ever.
Romans 3:24-26 Being justified freely
by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
[25] Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through
faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission
of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; [26]
To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he
might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in
Jesus. [KJV]
God
in His gracious kindness declares us not guilty. He does this
when we believe Him and accept His Son, Jesus. He frees us
by taking away our sins. God sent Jesus to take the punishment
for our sins and to satisfy God's anger against us. We are
made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed His blood,
sacrificing His life for us. God is completely fair and just
when He declares sinners to be right in His sight because
they believe in Jesus. This is God’s grace!
Christ
Jesus, the same One who will be Judge of the entire world
one day, came to Earth as a Man to die in our place. God cannot
die, so Jesus had to become Man to die for us. He bore our
sins and our judgment on that horrid cross, to deliver believing
sinners from the penalty of sin and Hell (that we deserve).
God in His endless goodness and grace, reaches out and justifies
us (declares us not guilty) when we in faith, reach out to
Jesus to save us. If you do not believe on God’s Son
as your personal Saviour and Lord, you will not experience
the awesome grace of God. God wants to show His kindness and
love to you, but He will do it only through Jesus.
John 1:12-13 But as many as received
him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even
to them that believe on his name: [13] Which were born, not
of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of
man, but of God. [KJV]
John 3:15-18 That
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal
life. [16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into
the world to condemn the world; but that the world through
him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned:
but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he
hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of
God. [KJV]
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess
with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine
heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved. [KJV]
I
can do nothing for my own salvation. God does not want me
to do anything for my salvation. Jesus did it all! Salvation
is complete, just accept it! The gift is yours!
SAVING
GRACE
Acts 15:10-11 Now therefore why tempt
ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which
neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? [11] But we
believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we
shall be saved, even as they. [KJV]
There
were some in the time of the early church that believed a
man had to be circumcised (Acts 15:1) in order to be saved.
But Peter boldly stood up and spoke the above words. Why do
you now want to put God to the test by laying a load on the
backs of believers? We believe we Jews are saved by the grace
of the Lord Jesus Christ, and it is the same with the Gentiles,
he said.
God’s
Word plainly tells us we are saved by grace and grace alone!
If we try to do anything in securing our own salvation, we
are taking away from Christ’s work at Calvary. It discredits
and slanders our precious Saviour. To try to place anything
on the same level as the cross, or to try to add anything
to Jesus’ sacrifice by any human deeds is an utter abomination
to Almighty God.
Ephesians
2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not
of works, lest any man should boast. [KJV]
Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness
which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us,
by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
[KJV]
God
saved us, not because of the good things we did, but because
of His mercy and grace. He washed away our sins and gave us
a new life through the Holy Spirit. We are saved only by the
grace of God.
SUSTAINING
GRACE
Romans 5:1-2 Therefore being justified
by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
[2] By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein
we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. [KJV]
We
can access God’s grace only by our faith; NO other way!
God not only saves us by His grace, but gives us a position,
a status as His child! And that will never change! He won’t
tell us today that we are His child and tomorrow we are not
because we did some awful sin. A child of God will never be
cast out.
Romans
11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without
repentance. [KJV]
God's
gifts and His call can never be withdrawn from us. They are
irrevocable. God does not change His mind about whom He chooses
and blesses. Through many dangers, toils and snares I have
already come, ‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
and grace will lead me home. God’s grace is always there
in times of sorrow, trials, pain, weaknesses, or any difficulties;
it’s ours and it’s ALWAYS sufficient!

Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace
is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in
weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my
infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
[KJV]
God’s
grace is able to sustain us in any circumstance!
SANCTIFYING
GRACE
Romans 6:13-14 Neither yield ye your
members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield
yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead,
and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
[14] For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are
not under the law, but under grace. [KJV]
Does this mean that true believers (Christians) are ‘lawless’?
No way! We are free from the Law, but not lawless. We live
under a new law: the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.
Romans
8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ
Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. [KJV]
The
“Spirit of life” is the Holy Spirit. He was present
at the creation of the world (Genesis 1:2), and He is the
power behind the rebirth of every Christian. He gives us the
power we need to live the Christian life. His Presence within
us sanctifies us, sets us apart as God’s children. If
we do not possess the Holy Spirit within us, we are NOT God’s
children (Rom.8:9).
The
purpose of grace is to produce in believers a life that is
Godlike, because it is the life of Christ Himself. His indwelling
Spirit is there to assist us in this life. Grace is God teaching
us through His Word and His Spirit, so we can become more
like Jesus every day that we live. Grace is a sanctifying
power in our lives.
SATISFYING
GRACE
2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 Now our Lord
Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath
loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good
hope through grace, [17] Comfort your hearts, and stablish
you in every good word and work. [KJV]
Our
Lord Jesus Christ and God our spiritual Father, truly do love
us, and God’s grace gives us everlasting comfort, encouragement
and hope. This grace comforts our hearts and gives us strength
to establish us in every good thing we do and say. The
grace of God is truly a satisfying grace! No matter what may
face you, no matter how rough your road, the grace of God
will encourage and comfort you.
God’s grace also gives us tremendous hope, not only
for this life on Earth, but for the world to come.

Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath
begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of
Jesus Christ from the dead, [KJV]
Let
us continually give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ! Because of his great mercy he gave us new life
by raising Jesus Christ from death. This fills us with a living
hope. Some versions calls it a “living hope.”
The KJV calls it “lively hope.” It is a hope that
is energetic, spirited, vigorous and active. It is alive!
1 Peter 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins
of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace
that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus
Christ; [KJV]
We
must keep our minds ready for action. We must keep alert and
set our hope completely on the blessing which will be given
you when Jesus Christ is revealed. We can rest, assured, on
the hope that comes from God’s marvelous grace. If
you have experienced God’s grace in salvation, you will
experience the ultimate joy of seeing Jesus come in the clouds
to receive His own unto Himself (1 Thes.4:14-18). You will
NOT be “left behind.” This blessed hope is ours
because of the wondrous grace of Almighty God.
It will be then that we shall see Christ and be like Him.
What a wonderful day that will be! I truly look forward to
it because then I will never sin again; I will never displease
my Lord ever again!

John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God,
and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that,
when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see
him as he is. [KJV] Come
Lord Jesus, come!
If you have never believed God and put your trust in Christ,
please consider doing so at this time. God did not make salvation
(eternal life) difficult, but very easy, so that even a child
or retarded person could have it. Just believe that Jesus
can save your soul from the penalty of sin, which is Hell.
Only
those who believe God and accept Christ to save us, can we
be children of God. Jesus has the power to do this. (John
1:12-13). Just by believing in Jesus in child-like faith,
you are “born again”
into God’s family. You are God’s child by the
wondrous grace of Almighty God. Once you truly and sincerely
believe, God’s grace goes to work in your life. You
are saved by the grace of God.
GOD’S AMAZING
GRACE
Any
and all that I write and teach, is with total and willing
dependence upon the awesome power of God the Holy Spirit,
in hopes that it may lead to the conversion of lost souls.
It is clear in the Bible that poor men and women are more
likely to receive the amazing grace of our Lord than the rich
and famous (Matthew 19:24; Mark 10:25). Because it is impossible
for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, it appears
impossible for a rich person to get to Heaven. But Jesus explained
that “with God all
things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).
Even rich people can enter the Kingdom IF God brings them
in. Faith in Christ, not in
self or riches, is what makes access to Heaven possible (John 14:6).
If anyone of wealth, rank, power, or fame should ever read
this, the Holy Spirit can impress upon them also, the fact
and Truth of God’s amazing grace. If my simple words
can be understood by the uneducated, surely they can also
be understood by the highly educated, IF they have the desire.
Only God alone knows how many will find their way to the remarkable
peace He offers, by what I write here. I pray that you will
be one of them.
There is a Fountain, a Spring of Living Water, along side
the road where you are traveling this day. Many thirsty persons
drink there, quenching their internal, spiritual thirst. The
thirst I speak of is deep, deep within us, in our soul. We
humans seem to have a void, an empty place in our soul, which
longs to be filled. It’s a big, God-shaped vacancy,
void or hole crying out to be filled! Jesus has told us that
IF we hunger and thirst for the things of God, we shall be
filled!
Matthew
5:6 Blessed are
they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they
shall be filled. [KJV]
The
amazing grace of God will see to it! But, IF you do not hunger
for God, IF you do not thirst for Him, the grace of God will
NOT come your way. It will pass you by! You will not, and
you cannot, know that remarkable peace that God has available
for you, that He so wants to give you; unless you are willing
to believe Him and accept His Son.
I am not writing this to demand anything of you, but to make
you think, and bring you something. My demanding anything
will get me no where! I won’t talk only about right
and wrong, and punishment; but also about love, goodness,
forgiveness, mercy, and eternal life. I write to you in the
Name of Jesus, and offer you a free Gift that only the TRUE
God of the Bible can give you! This Gift will enhance your
present life and give you eternal joy. If you will just open
the door, and let Jesus in (Rev. 3:20), things in your life
will begin to change, for the better!
Isaiah
1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith
the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as
white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall
be as wool. [KJV]
IF you hear Jesus knock, please do not refuse to open to Him.
Remember that He is knocking with a nail-scarred Hand! Since
He has only your good in mind, open and let Him in! Let the
good He brings with Him sink into your soul. This may be the
hour in which you enter that new life which is the beginning
of Heaven. “Faith cometh by hearing”
(Rom. 10:17), and reading is a way of hearing. Faith could
come to you while you are reading this. It is possible! O
gracious God, make it be so!
Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not,
but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith
is counted for righteousness. [KJV]
“Him
that justifieth the ungodly.” What
wonderful words! Does this mean that God saves
wicked men and receives even the most wicked person? NO! Not
without Jesus! Jesus makes those just (lawful and right) who
are unjust, forgives those who deserve to be punished, and
favors those who deserve no favor.
- Do
you think that salvation is only for those who are good?
- Do
you think that God’s amazing grace is just for the
pure and holy?
- Do
you think God’s grace is only for those who are
free from sin? IF this is what you think, you are wrong!
- Do
you think that IF you are good enough, and live a moral
and upright life that God will reward you? . . . NOT true!
- Do
you think that because you are not worthy, there could
be no way you could enjoy His favor? IF you do, you must
be surprised to read a Bible verse like this: “Him
that justifieth the ungodly.” I never cease
to wonder at the amazing grace of God. I am so unworthy
of His amazing grace! Yet God in His mercy reached out
to me.
The Bible tells us that we ALL are sinners (Romans 3:10, 23).
NO ONE is exempt! We ALL are guilty of sinning against God
and His goodness.
Does it sound surprising that a holy, pure and undefiled God
could ever justify unholy and sinful mankind? We may think we are not that bad! But in God’s eyes,
we are vile and evil sinners without Jesus. We are completely unworthy of God’s grace without Jesus!
God tells us that “all our righteousnesses are as
filthy rags” (Isaiah 64:6). The Lord Jesus came
into the world to offer His righteousness to people who have
none of their own! He came, not because we are just, but to
make us just. He justifies the ungodly, the unworthy. He justifies
all those who believe on His Name (John 1:12; Romans 10:13).
This miracle is reserved for the Lord alone. He knows there
is not a just man or woman upon Earth that does good and doesn’t
sin, so He undertakes the task of justifying the ungodly ---
when we accept Jesus and His Work on the cross.
I don’t understand how this miracle happens, but then
we are not supposed to understand miracles! God has designed
a way of making ungodly people to be able to stand justly
accepted before Him. He can treat guilty sinners as if they
had been free from sin all their lives. He justifies the ungodly.
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. To me, it
is a great wonder; that God should ever justify me. I am completely
unworthy, a body of corruption, and a mass of sin;
apart from His almighty nd amazing grace. I know for a fact that I am
justified by faith which is in Christ Jesus, and God treats
me as if I have always been perfectly just and righteous all
my life. He makes me an heir of God and a joint heir with
Christ (Rom.8:17); even though I among the most sinful (1 Tim.1:15). I am absolutely
undeserving, yet God treats me as if I deserve His love and His
grace! God loves me with as much love as if I had always been
completely sinless. I can’t help being overwhelmed at
this! Gratitude for such favor can never be spoken in words
from the mouth, only in words from the heart.
If God justified this ungodly sinner, my friend, He can justify
you. If you are without Jesus at this moment, you are ungodly,
you are a sinner (John 9:31). You have been living without
God, you are the OPPOSITE of being godly.
You have been and ARE ungodly, no matter what you think!
Do
you try to doubt God’s existence? You live on this Earth,
which is full of proofs of God’s Presence, but have
you closed your eyes to the clear signs of His power and Godhead.
Do you live as if there were no God? Have you tried to convince
yourself that there is no God whatsoever? How long have you
lived this way? You are probably well settled in your ways,
and God is not in any of those ways.
Maybe you are someone who attends church, but you have no
heart in it. Maybe you sing in the choir, but you have not
praised the Lord with what counts, your heart. You probably
live without any love for God or any regard to His commandments.
If so, these words are for you: “God justifieth
the ungodly.” Why shouldn’t you be justified?
Can you think of any reason? Remember that the salvation of
God is for those who do not deserve it! I truly praise and
thank Him for this Truth, because I certainly do not deserve
His awesome and amazing grace! But He bestowed it upon me,
and I am eternally gratefully!
- Do you think you don’t need to be justified?
- Do
you think you are perfectly good and righteous on your
own?
- Do
you think everything is going your way?
- Do
you think that Heaven is yours because you do good things?
- Do
you think: “Why do I need a Saviour? Why do I need
to be justified?”
If
you think and believe the above, or any one of them, what I have been saying will NOT
interest you. If you think such proud falsehoods, I wish you
would just consider for a moment what I say next. You
will be lost to an eternal Hell just as sure as you are alive
this day. God guarantees this! It’s
a Promise from God. Your self-righteousness is all your own
doing. You are either a deceiver or being deceived; for God
and His Word absolutely cannot lie. The Bible states the Truth
very plainly. “There is none righteous, no, not
one” (Romans 3:10). NONE
righteous, NO, NOT one! There is NO gospel
for the self-righteous. Christ Jesus came not to call the
righteous but sinners. If He would have called self-righteous
people, they would not have come!
All I ask is that you take a long, hard look at that righteousness
of yours, and maybe you will see what a delusion it is. Run
from it! You need true righteousness, and that comes only
from Jesus! Admit that you need help, admit you need something
done for you, so that you will be just and righteous when
you stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ. Trust and depend
upon the grace of God. God’s grace makes people righteous
who are unjust. That grace of God is His infinite love, mercy,
goodness and kindness put to work in the lives of ungodly
sinners! To justify the ungodly is a miracle only
God can perform.
If there was a doctor somewhere who had discovered a reliable
remedy for a deadly disease; where would that doctor be sent?
To those who are perfectly healthy? No. He would go to sick
people. “The whole
have no need of a physician, but they that are sick”
(Luke 5:31). It is this way
with the reliable remedy of God's grace and redemption; because
those without Christ are sick in their soul with a deadly
disease. If you are spiritually sick, the Great Physician
has come into the world, for you. If
you are dominated, burdened and ruined because of your sin,
you really need God’s grace. The Lord of love had you
in mind when He arranged the marvelous method of grace.
Pardon is not for someone who has no sin. Pardon is for the
guilty. Forgiveness is for the sinful. It’s ridiculous
to speak of forgiving someone who has not done anything wrong,
or pardoning those who have never offended anyone. God’s
grace was intended for sinners, ungodly sinners! It is true,
that Jesus seeks and saves that which is lost. He died, making
an atonement for sinners. The door of God’s mercy and
grace never closes, it’s open 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week, 365 days a year!
Christ Jesus died for our hateful sins. His precious Heart’s
Blood was spilled out to wash away the deep crimson stains
of those sins; because there is nothing else that can remove them. Our evil, black sins can be made white
as snow by the Blood of Jesus! “This is a faithful
saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came
into the world to save sinners” (1 Tim.1:15). The
law is for the self-righteous, to humble their pride and to
lead them to Christ (Galatians 3:24-25); and the Gospel is
for lost souls, to remove their guilt and despair. If you
are not lost, you do not need a Saviour? Why would the Shepherd
go after sheep who never went astray? Medicine is for diseased
bodies, grace is for diseased souls; pardon is for the guilty,
and giving of sight is for those who are blind. Sinners is
the reason the Gospel exists. If you are ungodly and hell-deserving,
the Gospel of Christ is for you.
“God justifieth the ungodly.” As plain
as this Truth is, it is only the Lord that can make a person
see it and believe it. Neither I nor any other servant of
God can force someone to see this Truth. He is able to abundantly
pardon. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners;
that’s you and that’s me! Forgiveness and pardon
is for the guilty. Come to Jesus just as you are, filthy and
sinful. Come, though hopelessness hangs over you like a dark
cloud. Come and ask the Lord to justify yet another ungodly
one. Come, for God’s amazing grace is meant for you.
The amazing grace of God is the fountain-head of our
salvation.
Ephesians
2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [KJV]
It
is only because God is full of amazing grace, that sinful
men are forgiven, purified, converted, and saved. It is not
because of anything we do or ever could do! It’s only
because of God’s unlimited love, goodness, pity, compassion,
mercy, and grace that we are saved!
Consider
the pure river of water of life, as it proceeds out of the
throne of God and of the Lamb! From a bottomless pit comes
the amazing grace of God! Can anyone measure its wideness?
Can anyone comprehend its depth? Just as is all the rest of
God’s divine characteristics, so too, is His grace endless.
God is full of love, for “God is love.” God is
full of love, goodness, kindness, mercy and compassion. Unlimited
goodness and love is the basic nature of the Godhead. It is
only because “his mercy endureth for ever”
(Psalm 136) that the ungodly are not utterly destroyed; and
because “his compassions fail not” (Lam.3:22)
that sinners are brought to Him and forgiven.
Faith is the work of God’s grace in us. No man can say
that Jesus is the Christ except by the Holy Spirit. Jesus
said: “No man cometh
unto me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him”
(John 6:44). So faith, which brings us to Christ, is the result
of God’s decision to draw us to Him.
Faith is like a channel that leads us to God’s grace.
God’s grace is the fountain and the stream; and our
faith is the channel along which God’s grace flows.
This channel must not be blocked or restricted in any way,
so that God’s grace, can come down to us. By faith all
things become possible to us; yet our power is not in our
faith, but in God upon whom our faith relies. The peace within
our soul is not from our own faith; but from Him who is our
peace. Our power lies in the grace of God, not in our faith.
You must look away from everything, and see nothing but Jesus,
and the grace of God revealed in Him.
There are many descriptions of faith; but nearly all the definitions
I have seen have made me understand it less. Faith is a simple
thing, and maybe because of this, it is difficult to explain.
Faith is knowledge, belief, and trust. “How shall
they believe in him of whom they have not heard?”
(Romans 10:14). We must be informed of a fact before we can
believe it.
What
is “knowledge” according to the Bible? It simply
is knowing God!
- Knowledge
strengthens our faith and our love.
- Knowledge reveals Jesus to us; it paints a picture of
Jesus in our heart.
- Knowledge
strengthens our hope and gives us patience. The more we
know about God, the more our faith will increase, as will
our love and our hope.
“Faith cometh by hearing”(Romans 10:17);
we must first hear something, in order that we may know whether
to believe it or not. “They that know thy name shall
put their trust in thee” (Psalm 9:10).
Knowledge
is necessary to faith; therefore it is important that we receive
knowledge. “For he that cometh to God must believe
that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently
seek him” (Hebrews 11:6). Do
you “believe that He is?”
Faith is also trust.
It
means leaning all your weight upon Christ Jesus. Cast yourself
upon Jesus; rest in Him; commit yourself to Him. Doing this,
you exercise saving faith. Faith is believing that Christ
is who He said He is, and that He will do what He said He
would do, and then literally claiming His Promises.
The Bible states Christ Jesus is God, God in human flesh;
He is perfect in His character; He was made a sin-offering
on our behalf; He bore our sins in His own Body on the tree.
The Bible states He “rose again from the dead”
(Mat. 28:7) that He “ever liveth to make intercession
for us” (Romans 8:34) that He has gone up into
the glory, and that He will come again “to judge
the world in righteousness” (Psalm 9:8). Firmly
believing God . . . this is faith.
- Faith is surely selected as a channel because
it gives all the glory to God.
- It
is of faith that it might be by grace, and because of
that grace, there can be no boasting on our part; for
God cannot and will not stand for our pride. “The
proud he knoweth afar off” (Psalm 138:6) and
God has no wish to come near to them.
- Faith
excludes all boasting. God has selected faith to receive
the indescribable gift of His grace, because faith does
not take any credit.
- Faith
places all the glory where it belongs --- with the Lord
Jesus!
- Faith
saves us because it makes us cling to God, and it brings
us into fellowship with Him.
- Faith
unites us to God!
- Faith
works by the power of love and influences our devotion
to God. If we believe in God, we will love God and trust
Him.
- Faith creates peace and joy. If we have faith, we have
rest, serenity, contentment and peace.
- Faith
provides us with spiritual armor for this life, and direction
for the life to come.
- Only
faith enables a person to live and to die without fear.
- Faith
prepares us for suffering that is bound to come in our
daily lives.
- Faith
does for us what nothing else can do; it gives us joy
and peace, and eternal life.
Those who think they will be
saved by their good works are pushing at Heaven’s gate
with NO result. That gate will NEVER budge a fraction of an
inch by the greatest deed they ever do!
Faith
in Christ Jesus is the only key which will ever open Heaven’s
gate. Will you use that key this day? God commands you to
believe in His dear Son, and only by doing so you shall ever
live eternally.

John 5:10-12 He that believeth on the Son of
God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God
hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record
that God gave of his Son. [11] And this is the record, that
God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his
Son. [12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath
not the Son of God hath not life. [KJV]
This is the promise of the Gospel, “He that believeth
and is baptized shall be saved”? (Mark 16:16).
Please don’t object to the one and only Way of salvation,
which entrusts itself to the mercy and the wisdom of our gracious
God. Please don’t turn your back on the amazing grace
of God. Turn to Jesus today. Tomorrow may be too late.

have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold,
now is the day of salvation.) [KJV]
Accept
the awesome Gift of God’s amazing grace that He so willingly
offers.
