POEMS
ON COMFORT
Better
Than Life
Better than
life, is Thy lovingkindness,
My lips shall praise Thee, for You always
bless.
For as long as I live, I will bless Thee,
I’ll lift up Thy Name, for eternity.
As I lay on
my bed, and meditate,
I remember Thy love and goodness so great.
Thou hast been my help, each time I do pray,
In Thy wings shadow, I’ll praise Thee
always.
My soul will
follow hard, after Thee,
For Thy wondrous right hand upholdeth me.
Truly God hath attended to my pray’r,
Bless’d be God, for His love, mercy
and care.
For the Lord
God is my Sun and my Shield,
And unto my Lord, I will totally yield.
No good thing will He withhold from me,
Or anyone who does walk, righteously.
Thou art good,
always ready to forgive,
Mercy so plentiful, each day I live.
Lord, there are no other gods like unto Thee,
The Creator God, of eternity.

CALLED
AND CHOSEN
Those called
and chosen are privileg’d indeed,
For to Your Spirit, they do heed.
These “few” truly accept Your
Son,
But most reject Christ, and Him they shun.
These that
You call, open their heart wide,
So that the Saviour may come inside.
You touch these “few” in a special
way,
As they come in pray’r, all thru’
the day.
So, so special
are these very “few,”
For these all willingly, obey You.
It gives them great joy, Your touch to feel,
For Your awesome Presence, their soul does
heal.
Called and
chosen, an amazing thing,
For You reach out to these with special blessings.
Tho’ ev’ry one You call is unworthy,
Accepting Christ removes iniquity.
Many in the
past, have felt Your Hand,
And You’ve blessed their efforts thru’
out the land.
Those You called that did not turn away,
Willingly love You, trust You and obey.
So many invitations,
You do send,
It’s so sad that most, You do offend.
But the “few” who accept are privileg’d
indeed,
For Your awesome touch, they did heed.
So very privileg’d
and special, am I,
For the Lord’s call, I did not deny.
On my own, I’d never be worthy,
But praise God, His Son gave me victory!
I’m privileg’d
to be one of the “few,”
For Lord, I believe and follow You.
You have touched me in a special way,
And I’ll be grateful, all my days!

CLOSE
TO ME
I can hear
Him say: Walk close to Me,
For to life’s problems, I hold the key.
I can help you, your burdens to bear,
I love you dearly, and I do care.
When life’s
paths, get foreboding and dark,
Walk in My light, and to Me do hark.
Walk close to Me, I can hear Him say,
For I can make it, a brighter day.
Walk close
to Me, Jesus gently states,
Life’s snarls, I can help eliminate.
Chaos that baffles you, I’ll help clear,
My child, I’ll assist, I’m always
near.
Walk close
to Me, my Master declares,
For no one else, with Me can compare.
I’ll give you wisdom, I’ll give
you pow’r,
For I’m with you always, ev’ry
hour.
Walk close
to Me, my Friend speaks low,
For I will guide you, where e’er you
go.
I’ll be with you, ev’ry step of
the way,
Loving and caring for you, each day.
Walk close
to Me, ‘tis my Shepherd’s voice,
And each time I hear, I simply rejoice.
When I stray, He brings me back to the fold,
His rebuke to me, is worth more than gold.
Walk close
to Me, my Saviour does say,
As I get closer to Heav’n each day.
Only Christ Jesus holds Heav’n’s
one key,
And just He can give, life eternally.

COMFORT
COMES
Comfort comes
when pain is more than I can bear,,
The Lord Jesus arrives, my burdens to share.
He may not always take all my pain away,
But His comfort comes, and will last thru’
the day.
Comfort comes
when sorrow immerses my soul,
The Lord Jesus is there, taking full control.
I still may suffer and I still may grieve,
But the Presence of Jesus never does leave.
Comfort comes
when persecution is fierce,
The Lord Jesus gladly my suffering does pierce.
It seems there’s people who love to
oppress,
But His comfort comes, as He truly does bless.
Comfort comes
when tribulation sets in,
The Lord Jesus sees that my troubles I win.
I know that hardships will come ev’ry
day,
But comfort comes when Jesus lights the way.
Comfort comes
when I have total distress,
The Lord Jesus steps in, and releases my stress.
I know things in life won’t always be
right,
But comfort comes with His wisdom and might.
Comfort from
God comes in so many ways,
Power and mercy and love He displays.
His forgiveness is great encouragement,
And His awesome grace is always sufficient.

FILLED
When Christ
came into my heart; something chang’d,
Ev’ry detail of my life, was re-arrang’d.
Before, there was turmoil, hatred and sadness,
Now, there’s serenity, love and gladness!
I am fill’d
with the promis’d Holy Ghost,
Fill’d with love and pow’r, to
the uttermost.
He takes away strife, and troubles that grieve,
And yet one more promise: He’ll never
leave!
Our God of
Hope, has fill’d me with great joy,
A wondrous feeling, I truly enjoy.
This happens only thru’ the Holy Ghost,
His pow’r is there for us, at no cost!
My soul is
fill’d with remarkable peace,
And because of Christ, it will never cease.
Because of my faith; God show’d me His
grace,
One day soon, I’ll certainly see His
Face!
I’ll
be fill’d with His sweet peace forever,
No one --- anywhere, this peace can sever.
I can go on, and bear life’s discord
and care,
For I know Christ’s Presence is always
there!
I thank You
for this gift, gladly knowing,
That You will fill me, to overflowing,
With peace, joy, contentment and love,
‘Til that precious day when You call
me above!

FAITH
CAN’T BE UNANSWERED
Faith can’t
be unanswered by God,
No matter where, here or abroad.
Your faith pleases the Almighty One,
Eternal life thru’ faith has begun.
Faith won’t
be unanswered by Him,
No matter when, morn or night so dim.
Your faith is precious to our Lord,
It’s simply taking God at His Word.
Faith is believing
what God does say,
It’s trusting completely, night or day.
God won’t turn His back ever on you,
He will answer your faith so true.
Faith is not
having one single doubt,
It’s knowing He will show the right
route.
With His children’s faith, God is pleased,
Just go to Him, He’ll always appease.
Faith is always
answered by Him,
Even tho’ to you things look dim.
God won’t ever turn His back on faith,
Not even when you take your last breath.
When we have
faith, we have hope beside,
For the love of God in us does abide.
Hope of eternal life that He gives,
Thru’ answered faith, yet while we live.

GOD’S
LOVE SEEMS BEST
We need not
tremble ‘tho darkness gather ‘round,
For the wondrous grace of God, does abound!
Rolling black clouds and tempests, o’er
all the sky,
God’s love seems best, when storms to
you come nigh!
He restores

In paths of righteousness, He always guides
right!
Tho’ trials and sorrow may come to me
today,
God’s love seems best, as He casts my
fears away!
There’s
no darkness, when we in Jesus, abide,
We’ll walk in the Light, if we follow
our Guide!
No greater Light will this world ever see,
God’s love seems best, when He gives
victory!
Whatever your
grief, or whatever your care,
There is no sorrow, that He’ll not help
you bear!
In ev’ry burden, or heart-felt agony,
God’s love seems best, when He shows

Tell Him of

And in His awesome grace, find sweet repose!
When you rest in Jesus, you’re safe
evermore,
God’s love seems best, when His Son
you adore!

GOD
TAKES CARE OF ME
God takes care
of me, for Him I believe,
His beloved Son, I have received.
My whole life is under His watchful eye,
His loving goodness, I’ll never deny!
God takes care
of me, for I am His child,
I’m part of His fam’ly, I’ll
not be exiled.
Because I believe in His beloved Son,
God will never, ever, my presence shun!
God takes care
of me, when I have pain,
The consolation He gives, is such great gain.
When sorrow comes, and my eyes fill with tears,
Loving comfort I find, for He is near!
God takes care
of me now, and for ever more,
For the bliss of Heaven, He holds in store.
I have peace, joy and hope, for all eternity,
Because I trust Christ, God takes care of
me!

HE’S
ALWAYS THERE FOR YOU
Have you reached
out your hand to Him for aid?
Have you turned to Him, when you were afraid?
Have you, your worries, taken to Him?
Have you trusted Him, in shadows dim?
In your confusion,
did you ask Him to guide?
Did you ask that your daily needs, He provide?
Did you ask that your doubts, He remove?
Did you ask that you live a life, that He
approves?
Have you thanked
Him for removing your fear?
Have you thanked Him for His Presence, near?
Have you thanked Him for His guiding light?
Have you thanked Him for making, darkness
bright?
Have you thanked
Him, for taking pain away?
Have you thanked Him for, every new day?
Have you thanked Him, for your mansion above?

His endless
love like a river flows,
Such wondrous love, on us He bestows.
Care and concern and compassion too,
Eternal grace flows to me and you!
An e’er

Tremendous love that’s simply profound!
His endless

Such amazing love to be e’er lasting.
Unto us flows love, faithful and true,
Spectacular love, for me and you.

God’s wonderful love, will surely keep.
He longs to grant streams of mercy to you,
All because His endless love is true.

And God’s endless love will come your

HE’S
ALWAYS THERE
“I
will never leave you nor forsake you,”
A wonderful promise, one He will do.
Do you have troubles, doubt, sorrow or fear?
God wants you to call Him, He’s always
near.
God never changes,
as the world wants to,
He’s always the same; faithful, loving,
true.
Many struggle, as they do things their way,
But He’s always there, to help when
we pray!
“I’m
with you always, to the end of the age,”
Such great comfort, as we read from His Page.
It does not matter, what troubles you’re
in,
He’s always there, when you turn to
Him!
“I
will help and uphold thee, with my right Hand,”
His support is there, when we take our stand.
His presence in near, we’ll not be ashamed,
He’s always there, this blessing we’ve
gained!
Great the afflictions
of the right and just,
But trust and obey; to Him it’s a must.
The Lord is so good to help us along,
He’s always there, alone or in a throng!
He’s
a ‘Light’ in the dark, gracious
and true,
Full of love and compassion, to help you.
Fix your heart on the Lord; cast out your
fear,
He’s always there, now, tomorrow; so
near!
Once you confess
Christ as Saviour and Lord,
You must walk with Him in willing accord.
Trials come; but where you go or what you
do,
He’s always there, that He may help
you thru’!

(Heb.13:5,8; Mt.28:20; Is.41:10; Ps.34:19;
1 Co.10:13; Jn.1:4-5; 1 Jn.1:5)
HE’S
THERE
If you walk
alone beside a stream,
So perfect in beauty, as if a dream,
He is there with you, along your side,
Always wanting with you to abide.
What if you
should just happen to be,
In a bustling crowd, in a big city?
Do you possibly think He’d leave you?
No, my dear friend, He’s always true!
But what if
you would happen to do,
Some sinful thing that you ought not to?
He won’t leave, but He will be upset,
Ask His forgiveness; He paid the debt.
Once you’re
a child in God’s family,
He’ll never leave you; He walks closely!
Though He does get displeased at times,
When we truly repent, all is fine.
A wondrous
feeling, down in my heart,
The ‘peace’ He’s giv’n,
shall never depart.
I know for a fact; without a doubt,
He’s always with me, always round ‘bout.

Ac.17:27; 1 Jn.1:9; Jn.1:12; 3:3-8,15-18;

I
WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU
If we be perfect
thru’ Christ, and upright,
Fearing, revering God; things can be bright.
He will uphold us, whatever may come,
Till we behold Him, in Our Heav’nly
home.
Satan shall
buffet our body so weak,
Let us remember; our Saviour, so meek.
No one who has e’er walked here below,
Has been thru’ the suff’ring that
Christ did know.
Shall we receive
only good from God’s Hand?
When His only Son agonized on this land.
If we remember to give God first place,
He shall be with us as we run our race.
Bad things
may come on our pathway of life,
That which we fear the most, may cause us
strife.
Let us not lose our faith, nor trust in Him,
And that long pathway will never be dim.
Great troubles
may come when we least expect,
And over our lives, we may then reflect.
“What did I do to deserve this? why
me Lord?”
Then we recall what He says in His Word.
He knoweth
exactly the way that I take,
He’s watching to see the progress I
make.
God makes us a promise, one He won’t
break,
I will never leave you; never forsake!

MATTER WHAT
No matter what,
you can be forgiv’n,
Your eternal home, can be in Heav’n.
But our holy God, you must believe,

No matter what,
God’s great love is there,
Free and abundant, because He cares!
But our wondrous God, you must obey,
And walk with Christ in the narrow way.
No matter what,
God’s mercy is near,
Penalty of sin, we need not fear.
Christ paid our debt, as He hung on the Cross,
But, if you reject Him, Heav’n is lost!
No matter what,

And one day soon, you can see His Face.
But you must be “born again” Christ

ONE
TRUE FRIEND
When the great
trials of life get you down,
When painful tribulations make you frown.
There is one true Friend, ever so near,
He will help bear your burdens, and calm your
fears.
When all those
you thought were friends, forsake you,
When you find their promises were not true.
There is one true Friend, who will never leave,
He will prove Himself, every time you grieve.
When absolute
sorrow touches your soul,
When weeping and mourning takes full control.
There is one true Friend, always by your side,
He whispers softly, “In you I abide.”
When you think
you can’t take any more pain,
When storms roll in, and all you see is rain.
There is one true Friend, who can make the
sun shine,
As He sheds His great Light, ever so fine.
When doubt
and worry makes peace fly away,
When troubling thoughts attack, day after
day.
There is one true Friend, your peace can restore,
He will grant peace, joy, comfort, and much
more.
When we trust
and obey, Christ is our Friend,
He will be with us always, to the end.
But we must love others, the same as He,
Only then will we have life eternally.

OUR
LIFE SAVER
Our life is
like a turbulant sea,
As Satan tries to control our destiny!
Only Christ can give comfort and peace,
Just Jesus gives joy that will never cease!
Life’s
like a storm with vast angry waves,
Just Christ can keep us; just He can save!
Life’s troubles at times engulf us,
it seems,
We must turn away from Satan’s schemes!
Our life is
like a violent wind,
Only Christ that fury can rescind!
Satan tries to guide us on the wrong path,
He tries desperately to raise God’s
wrath.
Life can be
like someone ready to drown,
But when we grasp for Christ, Satan frowns!
We can trust Jesus to throw us a rope,
When trials of life take away our hope!
A Life Saver;
a Rope to hold on to,
Christ is always there to see us thru’!
He’s always there, to the very end,
Not anywhere, is there a better Friend!
This wondrous
Friend; do you truly know Him?
Life without Him can be bitter and dim!
He’s our Life Saver, now and always,
For without our Lord, we are Satan’s
prey!

PEACE
TAKES CONTROL
Peace takes
control, when my sins I confess,
In my quiet time, O Lord You truly bless.
You’re slow to anger, with abundant
mercy,
Your forgiveness, gives complete serenity.
In my quite
time with You, peace takes control,
Such amazing peace, flowing thru’ my
soul.
This fellowship with You, I truly need,
Many thoughts do come, on which my soul does
feed.
Peace takes
control, in these quiet times always,
Giving me wisdom, to help me live my days.
I feel Your awesome Presence, ever so near,
It hurriedly chases away any fears.
Peace takes
control, urging my heart to be still,
Quietly I listen, that I may know Your will.
Lord, I feel Your vast love, O so near to
me,
This love You give, comes unconditionally.
Peace takes
control, and my faith does increase,
In this quiet time, comfort never does decrease.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all within
me,
Praise His awesome Name, for all eternity.
Peace takes
control, O Lord You truly bless,
In these quiet times, my soul You do caress.
O Lord, I thank you for your amazing grace,
I look to the day, when I meet You Face to

SHADOW
OF THY WINNGS
God is symbolized
many ways in His Word,
One way is a large and protective bird.
With His feathers, He shall cover thee,
Under His wings, we can trust, you and me.
Under the shadow
of His wings, we can hide,
When with the Lord Jesus, we do abide.
We can run to Him, and find safety there,
We can forget all our worries and cares.
His lovingkindness is wondrous indeed,
When to His Holy Word, we truly heed.
Under the shadow of His wings, we can trust,
But our believing in faith, is a must.
My soul trusteth
in Thee, ev’ry new day,
You are my Refuge, as I go my way.
To the shadow of Thy wings, I run fast,
Until calamities, be overpast.
Because Thou
hast been my help, I rejoice,
When I cry out to You, You hear my voice.
In the shadow of thy wings, safe I feel,
For my heart and soul, You lovingly heal.

Your precious

Your precious Words, so freely giv’n.

Without your Words, I’d go to Hell,
And forever more, there to dwell.
Your precious

For I do know, you’re in control.
I know Satan is strong this day,
But it won’t always be that way.
Your precious

YOUR
PRESENCE
The pain that
I have, deep down inside,
With Your loving Presence, will subside.
Even when I go thru’ great distress,
Your loving Presence, always does bless.
Even when great
sorrow floods my soul,
Your abiding Presence, takes control.
‘Tis amazing, how sorrow will flee,
As Your loving Presence, comforts me.
When great
mourning, for my sin takes place,
I’m bless’d with the Presence
of Your grace.
You forgive my sins, when I confess,
You cleanse me from all unrighteousness.
Your Presence
is a blessing untold,
For Your love and mercy does unfold.
No better blessing could there e’er
be,
Than Your Presence, for eternity!
Your Presence
is with me, day by day,
You promis’d You would ne’er go
away.
Your Presence is with me, hour by hour,
Filling me with Your love and peace and pow’r.

YOU
EXPEDITE -----
When I feel
low, and day’s dark as night,
Your love and comfort, you expedite.
Always there, in the blink of an eye,
When I’m in need, you never deny.
You expedite
your wisdom and pow’r,
And it arrives at just the right hour.
Your infinite love and compassion,
There for your children; you never shun.
When the world
looks down on me in hate,
I recall that you too, had this fate.
When I try always to do what’s right,
Your wise, loving words, you expedite.
When Satan
steps in with trials great,
You’re there; my heart and soul to elate.
Persecution will come, ev’ry day,
But your love you expedite and portray.
Your love and
kindness, grace and mercy,
You expedite to the likes of me.
Without you Lord, I could not get by,
But you’re always there, and won’t
deny!

YOUR
SHADOW
Lord let Your
shadow fall upon me,
Grant me the privilege of Your mercy.
As I walk, with You ever so near,
Thank You Lord, for removing my fear.
Upon me, cast
Your precious shadow,
In times of great joy, or deep sorrow.
Thru’ peaceful calm, or violent storm,
Your soothing Presence, keeps me from harm.
Lord in Your
shadow, allow me to walk,
Lord, thank You, that with You I can talk.
Lord let me feel Your Presence ev’ry
day,
Don’t let me be the old devil’s
prey.
The shadow
of Your Presence empow’rs,
Seeing me thru’ e’vn my darkest
hour.
Knowing You’re near, gives comfort to
me,
I have great calm and serenity.
Your shadow
gives me peace and joy,
Not ev’n the devil can e’er destroy.
Contentment within, worry is gone,
I am no longer the devil’s pawn.
Let Your shadow
fall on me each day,
In return, let me, Your love display.
Let me love others, as You love me,
Let me tell of salvation so free.
Thank You Lord,
for Your shadow so near,
Thank You Lord, for removing my fear.
Thank You Lord, for my mansion above,
But thank You ‘specially, for Your love.
