Daniel 7:13-14, Christ’s Glorious Second Coming
Daniel 7:13-14 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. [14] And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. [KJV]
In Daniel’s vision, he saw someone who looked like a man coming with the clouds of Heaven. The clouds of Heaven picture the Son of Man (Jesus) as divine. All through the Bible, clouds represent His majesty and awesome Presence. God’s glory appeared in a cloud at the giving of the law at Sinai.
Exodus 16:10 And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the Lord appeared in the cloud. [KJV]
Exodus 19:9 And the Lord said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of the people unto the Lord. [KJV]
This Man approached the Ancient One and was led into His Presence. This “one like a son of man” is the Messiah. Jesus used this verse to refer to Himself. This is not just the Son of David, and King of Israel, but Head of restored humanity; the seed of the woman (Gen.3:15) who shall crush Antichrist, the seed of the serpent one day. The Kingdom shall be given to Him at His Second Coming. He will vindicate it from the misrule of those who received it to hold for God, but who ignored His supremacy. The Father will assert His right by the Son, the Heir, who will hold it for Him. He sits at God's right hand until His enemies are made His footstool, then the kingdom is given to the Son in actual investiture, and He comes to crush His so prepared footstool under His feet (Eph.1:20-22).
Matthew 26:64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. [KJV]
Luke 21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. [KJV]
John 1:51 And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man. (KJV)
The Son of God in Heaven is here empowered with the authority to take the kingdoms of this world from the Gentiles and establish His Kingdom. Jesus referred to this passage when He was put on oath at His trial before the Sanhedrin: “… Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven” (Mark 14:61-62). God’s angel prophesied at the time of His birth: “He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David” (Luke 1:32).
This Passage is a clear-cut statement that the Lord Jesus is that “stone cut out without hands” (Dan.2:34,45) which smites the image. Christ the Messiah will establish His Kingdom here upon Earth.
Psalm 2:7 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. (KJV) This refers to Jesus’ resurrection, not to His birth in Bethlehem.
Acts 13:33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. (KJV)
Psalm 2:8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. (KJV) Christ Jesus shall completely take over the Kingdom. How??
Psalm 2:9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. (KJV) When Christ returns to the earth, the Millennium will not be there waiting for Him. He will have to put out all rebellion, including shutting up Satan in the bottomless pit (Rev.20:1-3) . . . and then only those who are obedient will enter into the Millennial Kingdom.
Daniel 7:14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. (KJV) This opens the way for the Coming of Christ and the smashing of the image by the “stone cut out without hands” (Rev. 19:11–16).
Does “an everlasting dominion” contradict the idea of a Millennial Kingdom of 1000 years? No, it does not. In my humble opinion, the 1000 years, seems to be a test period with Christ as Ruler. At the end of the 1000 years, there will be a short period of rebellion against Christ when Satan is released from his prison (Rev.20:3). People in the Millennium will have a choice . . . stay with Jesus, under His righteous rule OR go with Satan.
Rev. 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. (KJV)
The 1000 year Kingdom is but a tiny part of the everlasting kingdom. The steps are outlined clearly in Revelation 20. Christ reigns a 1000 years on Earth, in Jerusalem, under heavenly conditions. After this period, Satan is released. The unregenerate human heart will still rebel against God (Ps.58:2; 95:10; Pro.10:20; Ecc.8:11; Isa.29:13; Jer.17:9; 18:12; Eze.11:21; Hos.4:8; Zec.7:12; Mat.12:35; 15:8,18; 23:27).
Multitudes will rush to Satan’s side, as he gathers them to make war against Christ. Satan and ALL the rebellious betrayers shall be cast into the lake of fire. The lost dead of ALL ages shall be raised for judgment before the Great White Throne (Rev.20:11-15). After the judgment, the eternal Kingdom begins. The Bible makes it clear that the location of this Kingdom is on the Earth.
Micah 4:2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. (KJV)
Satan will have been removed from all his power and deception for ever!
Rev. 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (KJV) Beast and false prophet in Hell (Rev.19:20).
The Messiah is called the Son of man. He was made in the likeness of sinful flesh, and was found in form as a man, BUT He is the Son of God. The great event foretold in Daniel 7:13-14, is Christ’s glorious Second Coming, to destroy EVERY anti-christian power, and to make His own Kingdom universal upon Earth. But before this awesome and majestic time arrives, before Christ reveals the glory of God to all worlds in His dealings with His creatures, the Father will openly give to His incarnate Son, our Mediator and Judge, the inheritance of ALL the nations as His willing subjects. Note: willing subjects, NOT like today! ALL people shall WILLINGLY serve Him, not just a few here and there.
Christ will be the Head of restored humanity; the seed of the woman (Gen.3:15), crushing Satan and ALL antichrists, the seed of the serpent.
Passages mentioned above.

Ephesians 1:20-22 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, [21] Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: [22] And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, (KJV)
Mark 14:61-62 But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? [62] And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. (KJV)
Luke 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: (KJV)

Daniel 2:45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure. (KJV)
Revelation 20:1-3 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. [2] And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, [3] And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. (KJV)
Revelation 19:11-16 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. [12] His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. [13] And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. [14] And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. [15] And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
[16] And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. (KJV)
Revelation 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. (KJV)
