IS
GOD NOT LISTENING?
Psalm
138:7-8 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou
wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against
the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.
[8] The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy,
O Lord, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own
hands. [KJV] God truly loves His children. He would never leave us
nor forsake us. His answer may not always be what we expect,
or want, but He does hear when His children pray.
Any
time God denies a request, there is a really good reason. He
paints on a BIG canvas, He sees a BIG picture; not like us,
seeing only what is in front of us at that particular time.
We may think we didn’t have enough faith, or maybe we didn’t
pray hard enough or long enough. Most likely when He doesn’t
answer it is because it was not in His will to do it. It would
probably be wrong for us, or cause us grief (Romans 8:28). We
should not focus on us and what we want, but on God, and what
He wants for us. If we leave the decision up to Him, He will
always give us what is best for us.
God
is so wise and all-seeing, and we with our limited capabilities
cannot possibly read God’s mind. We cannot possibly understand
His incomprehensible heart. All we can see is His refusal to
answer us. But,
has He refused to answer? God answers prayer in three ways:
1.
YES, 2. NO, 3. WAIT A WHILE. When
we go to God in prayer, we expect a yes answer. If He does not
answer yes, we think He has not heard us or He has refused to
answer us.
One
thing to remember when going to God in prayer; we must confess
our sins (1 John 1:8-9). If you do not get rid of that wall
of sin standing between God and you, God will not answer because
He will not hear your prayer. God cannot look on sin. He even
turned His back on His Son when He hung on the cross because
of OUR sin (Matthew 27:46).
John
9:31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but
if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he
heareth. [KJV]
Isaiah
58:9 Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou
shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from
the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger,
and speaking vanity; [KJV]
Isaiah
1:15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine
eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear:
your hands are full of blood. You
do not have to commit murder to have your hands "full
of blood."
1
John 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and
ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. [KJV]
Deuteronomy
31:18 And I will surely hide my face in that day for all
the evils which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned
unto other gods. All
verses [KJV]. God hears and answers His children, but sin must
go and our hearts must be right with Him.
