IF GOD IS LOVE, WHY DOES

HE SEND PEOPLE TO HELL?

Most people see God as a Judge presiding over a court of law. And someday when they are brought before Him, they think God’s mercy will ‘kick in’ and He will forgive them. This is NOT how God works. God is completely (100%) and perfectly just! So, exactly what does this mean? What is justice? It means righteousness or virtuous morality. Justice and righteousness are interchangeable. We can’t recognize any difference because there isn’t any difference.

Psalm 89:14 Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face. [KJV] To say that God is just or that God’s justice is a fact, is saying God is righteous. To say that God is just is saying God is equitable (fair, impartial, unbiased). He is never racially prejudiced or unreasonable toward anyone. God is morally equal.

Ezekiel 18:25 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal? [KJV] God tells us plainly His way is always equal; it is our ways that are unequal! What does unequal mean here? It means iniquity. Let’s go a little further, that word means iniquity! An iniquitous (sinful) person is not morally equal (to God).

Any time that God judges He brings justice to a person’s life. He applies justice to an immoral situation which that person has created in his or her life. IF a person’s ways are equal (right, just), God’s justice favors them, but IF a person’s ways are unequal (wrong, sinful, unjust), God has no other choice than to sentence that person.

So, what does God consider wrong? sinful? unjust? Disobedience! The following verse tops the list!

John 9:31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth. [KJV] WHO is a "sinner" in God’s eyes?

John 6:27-29 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. [28] Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? [29] Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. [KJV] We shouldn’t be concerned about perishable things like food and possessions. Our main concern should be seeking eternal life that only Jesus, the Son of Man, can give us. For God the Father has sent Him for that specific purpose. (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; 1 Corinthians 3:11-17; 1 Tim. 2:5-6; 1 John 5:10-12).

So, what does God want us to do? Jesus plainly tells us in verse 29. What God wants us to DO is to "believe on the One (Jesus) whom He has sent." IF we do not believe on Jesus for the salvation of our souls, and to remove God’s wrath from us, and to have Jesus’ righteousness applied to us (Romans 5:1), we are in direct disobedience to God. IF we do not trust Jesus, the only Way God has planned for us to be "righteous" in His eyes, then our God of justice has no other way to go except send unbelievers (sinners) to Hell. IF God did otherwise, He would not be a just God. We are doomed sinners without Christ. God will not send anyone to Hell until that person has made the decision to not believe God. We all have a free will. God allows us to make our own choices. Choose Jesus and Heaven!
